Borax free Wire drawing lubricants

For high-carbon steel, Steel cord, spring wire, cable wire, prestressed concrete wire, CONDAT offers wire-drawing soaps:

  • low Borax*: quantity of borax not resulting in classification of the product as toxic for reproduction
  • Borax free*

Since the end of 2010 and the classification of borax as a substance of very high concern (SVHC), CONDAT stopped production of “high borax” dry lubricants and surface treatments for wire drawing at its European site.

This first step guarantees that our surface coatings and dry lubricants are not labelled toxic for reproduction and ensures a safer working environment for operators. Keeping in mind that the future of borax in Europe has been compromised by its inclusion in the SVHC list, CONDAT’s R&D has worked without respite to supply its customers with high-performance solutions.

For example, the wire-drawing soap VICAFIL SANTALE 6 satisfies the most demanding productivity requirements. In particular, for the production of steel cable, it allows continuous improvement in the quality of the final product.
