Greases are biphasic complex assemblies of base oils (mineral or synthetic) with a thickener enabling very high viscosities to be obtained thus preventing the product from seeping and thus creating a lubricating film and a physical barrier to external aggressions.
For the most part, greases are used to lubricate bearings, plummer blocks and all parts in relative motion that cannot be lubricated by oils owing to their geometry or external factors (temperature, humidity, …).
